A series of business had rented the space before we bought the building in 2013. We started restoration and renovations in July 2013, creating a destination in Plainview.
It’s hard to miss our shop on Broadway in Plainview! Just look for the pink and purple building with the barn stars and yellow sign!
The same pastel colors greet you on the inside of the cake shop. Pink, purple, and green create a whimsical and inviting space for our customers.
Our attitude can make us or break us as. Negative attitudes destroy; positive attitudes make success! Life gives every one lemons at one time or another. It is our choice; what will we do with them? Every day Sam turns lemons in to exotic and delectable creations that delight all your senses!

Walking into the pink cake shop of Cakes Etc., at 221 W. Broadway, Plainveiw, MN you can automatically tell by the comfort of the decor, the aroma of sweet things, and the smell of fresh-brewed Caribou coffee, that this is a place where everything is unique. Just looking in the display case at the wonderful cupcakes and treats, at the decorated cakes, and and wedding cakes you can tell that this is a cake shop where everything is made by hand and with love from the heart for every customer. You can absolutely taste the love when you take the first bite of the delectable treats offered. It will become a sweet addiction, to be sampled more than once!
One of Sam’s ideas was to have a bright space with blue skies to greet her customers. That idea was brought to life with chandeliers and painted blue sky with clouds.

When Samantha Beach decided to carry on the family baking tradition and open a cake shop, she chose the quaint town of Plainview, MN.
